About Me
Hello, I’m K Colleen Stephenson. I’m a classically trained oil and modern mixed media painter based in Kansas City, Missouri. My artistic journey has been shaped by a lifelong love for mythology, symbolism, and the emotional richness of the natural world.
I study at the Milan Art Institute and am exhibiting work locally, in July, while continuing to build a portfolio that reflects the inner seasons of the soul.
When I paint, I follow curiosity—sometimes it leads to the quiet face of Persephone rising from winter, other times to the shimmer of a peacock's feather under golden light.
I believe art should feel like a sanctuary. I paint to remember what is true.
In a world often rushing and chaotic, I return to the canvas to seek out the sacred: moments of stillness, of clarity, of emotional truth. I draw from classical mythology, the natural world, and archetypal storytelling to create symbolic, soulful work that resonates with the deeper seasons of the human experience.
As a lifelong learner and observer, I’m fascinated by the hidden layers of meaning in our stories, our symbols, and our dreams. Through paint, I offer a quiet kind of guidance—a gentle invitation to return to your own inner wisdom.
And always, I offer light: a flicker of joy, wonder, or remembrance.
Thank you for visiting mine.
